Share your ideas to help guide how County-owned parks & open spaces are enhanced, redeveloped, or preserved.

County of Barrhead is seeking feedback on public use of County-owned green spaces to help inform future decision making and benefit residents.

To better serve the needs of the community, County of Barrhead aims to classify County-owned green spaces into 3 categories:
  1. Biodiversity
    • Green spaces that support biodiversity or ecology, and should not be intervened with or developed (protected areas).
  2. Hazard Mitigation
    • Green spaces that have potential to support infrastructure resilience to weather risks (e.g. enhancing a wetland adjacent to a road which has a history of flooding).
  3. Social
    • Green spaces which are or can be used by residents for recreational uses and community wellbeing (e.g. hiking, birdwatching or snowshoeing).
*We're only looking at green spaces owned by the County of Barrhead. Provincial or privately-owned properties are not included.

We want to hear from you!
To better understand how green spaces are being used and which spaces could be placed in the "Social” category, we're seeking public feedback on:
  • Which County-owned green spaces do you currently use?
  • What do you like to do at these sites?
  • What could improve your experience on County-owned green spaces?
