The Fire Chief, pursuant
to By-Law No. 8-2013, and pursuant to the Forest & Prairie Protection
Act, Revised Statutes of Alberta, HEREBY:
PROHIBITS all campfires
and other open fires or charcoal briquettes in the back country or random
camping areas; and
SUSPENDS all new fire
permits issued for large burning, brush piles and windrows.

issued for the duration of the Fire Restriction, as per the Forest &
Prairie Protection Act.
For greater certainty,
THIS ORDER does not apply to:
Safe fires which are contained in
cooking and heating appliances and which are fueled by fluids or gases;
Approved burn barrels / incinerators or
backyard and campground fire pits;
Residents are encouraged to postpone burning; however, if
they choose to burn in an approved burn barrel, backyard fire pit or
under an existing permit, extreme caution must be taken.
