A Tax Certificate is a legal document from the County of Barrhead indicating the financial status of taxes for a particular property. The certificate indicates whether taxes for the subject property are paid or are in arrears.
Tax Certificates may be required by individuals, law firms, or financial institutions when a property is being sold or refinanced, or as verification of paid taxes for other purposes.
Requesting and Tax Certificate
To request a tax certificate, the County requires:
- A written request, including legal address of the property and contact information for the individual or firm making the request.
- Payment of the request fee: $25.00 per parcel

Payments for Tax Certificates can be made to the County of Barrhead via cash, cheque, debit or e-transfer. E-transfer payments can be sent to email@example.com.
NOTE: Physical payment must be received in our office prior to the release of any information. Where your request is urgent, we recommend payment be made by e-transfer.
