The County of Barrhead is a member of the 911 emergency services system -- 24 hour operators will connect emergency calls to fire, ambulance and fire services. The Town and County have a joint emergency response center located in the Industrial Park, in the Town of Barrhead (4635 - 61 Avenue).

Police Services
Barrhead and District is served by a detachment of 9 members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Additional police services are readily available from the Morinville and Westlock detachments of the RCMP. The officer in charge is Sgt. Randy Hindy.  RCMP Administration Office: (780) 674-4848

Ambulance Services
Ambulance service is provided by Barrhead Ambulance Services Ltd. with 2 ambulance units and emergency personnel that delivers a combination of  advanced and basic life support to the Community. Access is available to the Stars Air Ambulance, with landing facilities on the hospital grounds.

Barrhead Fire Services
The municipal governments of the Town and County of Barrhead partner to provide fire/rescue services to the region consisting of 1 full time Fire Chief, William Graham. They operate out of the Emergency Response Centre. (780) 674-2087.

The Fire Authority provides many other services, including fire prevention/public education, loss prevention inspection, investigations and public relations to mention a few. We pride ourselves in providing the best possible service to the region and encourage everyone to practice fire prevention and safety at home, work and play.

The County of Barrhead Disaster Services responds to peacetime emergencies affecting the County of Barrhead. The County subscribes to the Edmonton Region Emergency Public Warning System.
